Coravue CMS Available as Hosted Application

Application Service Provider Helps Marketers Manage Content
and Reduce Costs

LOS ANGELES, CA -- August 22, 2001 -- Coravue, Inc. announced today that its content management system software, Coravue CMS, is now available through the company's application service provider offering called Coravue ASP. The new service allows marketers to develop and maintain dynamic Web and e-mail content without the cost of licensing and maintaining the technology in-house.

Coravue CMS, which was released earlier this year, is a Web-based CMS that uses a rules-based approach to combining templates and content objects in real-time to create Web pages and e-mail messages. Using a Web interface to design the site, create content, and assign personalization rules makes it easy for corporate marketing departments to tailor content to their target audiences.

Having a centralized content management system for all online content provides marketers with several key functions:

  • Updating Web content without affecting the design of the site
  • Creating e-mail newsletters and on-going e-mail marketing campaigns
  • Capturing visitor interest and activity profile data
  • Tailoring Web and e-mail content in real-time based on individual profile data

Hosted Application Lowers Operating Costs

The monthly usage fee enables companies to achieve a lower total online marketing cost because Coravue ASP eliminates the cost of investing in equipment, software, infrastructure, and support staff. In addition, companies currently using an e-mail service bureau can eliminate many of those the charges incurred when moving files between outside vendors.

"We've seen a sharp increase in the number of companies using our hosted solution for Web and e-mail instead of working with multiple vendors," said Cliff Allen, president of Coravue, Inc. "Marketers dealing with lower budgets and smaller staffs see a hosted Web and e-mail content application as a way around those problems."

Key Benefits

The Coravue ASP solution provides marketers with several key benefits, such as:

  • Template Formatting - Graphical templates separate page design from variable content to ensure a consistent look and feel.
  • Visual Content Editor - In-browser editor with WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) features similar to a word processor.
  • Rules-Based Personalization - Rules determine in real-time which content to display based on each person's profile.
  • Role-Based Access - Teams of content developers, designers, and marketers can enter, review, and update content based on each person's access level.
  • Reusable Content - Content can be used in Web, e-mail, and other formats.
  • Web Interface - Training is minimized by using a familiar Web-based interface.

Pricing and Availability

The monthly cost of the Coravue ASP service is based on usage, with a minimum charge of $150 per month. The Coravue CMS is available in general release for Sun Solaris, Linux, and other Unix-based servers. The cost to license Coravue CMS is $15,000 per server.
